Biography
I was born on the 29th October 1966 and grew up in a small rural village called Maxey near Peterborough Cambridgeshire. I have moved around a bit, but I am now back close to Peterborough.
My first musical inspiration was Elvis Presley; I was about 10 years old when I remember listening to an old vinyl 45 record of Elvis Presley singing "dont be cruel", I was hooked from then. While my friends were spending their pocket money on the latest chart hits I was building up my Elvis collection, by the time I was sixteen I had most of his recordings. I guess it was Elvis that introduced me to a wealth of different styles of music and he did it all so well, he had a real gift of communicating a song with such sincerity and soul. My musical tastes grew from there to many various country and rock and roll singers such as Jerry lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and the Everly Brothers. It was quite unusual for a boy of my age then to be listening to music that was more from my parents era, but little did I know it was feeding my desire to one day be involved in music myself.

Finding a voice
I had no real background in music other than absorbing the music that I was listening to. Like most teenagers I would sing along to my favorite songs. I remember in the school playground we would have some fun, friends and I would often get together and burst in to song, I would often sing lead vocal while my friends would do some form of backing like a 50`s doo wop group, in time my passion for singing and music grew, and often would get asked to sing at friends and family parties.

Barber/Hairdresser
I regrettably left school before I took any exams because I had a job to go to as an apprentice barber at a salon that I had previously been working as a Saturday boy. I can honestly say that I never really felt totally at ease being a barber/hairdresser, to me it seemed a very claustrophobic environment, I was always quite naturally a very physical person not only interest in music, but also very keen on physical pursuits, I seemed to have extra amounts of physical energy that within a barber shop environment there was no release for. That was always a source of frustration for me being so static (I have slowed down a bit now though)....But It gave me a unique education in human character and behaviour,I stuck it out for 20 years learnt my craft well and eventually owned and managed my own salon,I gave up full time hair dressing in 2003, but occasionally do some part time barbering to keep my hand in.

Music/Songwriting
Over the years with gaps in between I went from fronting a few bands and then going solo and then to developing an interest in songwriting. Writing began with poetry, and after getting poems published it seemed a natural progression to attempt to write melody. I wrote my first song in 2001 entitled So Alive which reached number 4 in the country EMS chart. It was a great feeling. Artistically it was a boost getting played on the radio and people were enjoying something I had created. Since then I have released two more songs on Stuart Cameron;s Hotdisc, each made the top twenty in the EMS chart and gained many favorable comments from the music industry.

God Only Knows
2004 got off to a great start with my first number 1 called God only knows This was released on the promotional NCM disc (New Christian Music), and hit the top spot on the country/gospel chart. A great sense of achievement knowing I was up against some big names in the country /gospel field such as George Hamilton 1v, Jessy Dixon, Clint Miller, and Jimmy Payne.

Future
2007, Fantastic, love found me in the shape of my beautiful wife Sarah. Married in April 07,I am sure Sarah will be an inspiration for some romantic songs, better get busy eh!
I hope to go on working creatively by developing and writing songs when the inspiration comes. My musical tastes are very varied these days, and I am inspired my many different Genres and styles;, but I will follow my heart and write what feels right. Of course it`s always great to get some recognition for your art, to connect with other people through your music is what it's about, but what ever level that may be, I hope music will always be a part of who I am.
